Are you about to attend an SEO Training course? Or are you simply in the market to find out more? Either way, you probably have a few objectives for your course, namely it should be able to teach you the fundamentals of Search Engine Optimisation and it should be able to teach you these in such a way that you can leave on the day knowing exactly what you need to do to be able to run your own SEO Campaign – right?
Well that’s the theory, yes. However, the important thing to remember is that no course in the land will be able to show you how to be an SEO expert in the space of a few hours – a trainer should have spent a significant portion of his or her working life working in SEO and if they can hand out all the knowledge they have built up over the duration of a six hour course, then they probably aren’t the right tutor for you.
However, in terms of what you should expect on the day then you should certainly aim to be given at least the fundamental knowledge you need to be able to launch and maintain your own SEO Campaign. One of the most important components in this is link building, and there should be a strong focus placed on this during the course (70% of the time spent on your SEO Campaign can easily be spent just building links to your website).
Finally, it’s important that there’s at least an element of after-training support – it’s quite likely that once you get to the stage of actually starting your campaign that you’re going to have a few questions you want to ask about what it is you’ve been doing; the trainer should be on hand to answer these questions.
